Allison Transmission will present its new products at Autocar Expo

Paris, November 2024  Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions, will be present at Autocar Expo 2024, a coach tourism and mobility exhibition, which will be held at Lyon Eurexpo from December 3 to 6 (stand D11). Allison teams will be on hand to discuss the latest developments, in particular the nine-speed fully automatic transmission and e-Axles.

At Autocar Expo, Allison Transmission will showcase the newest model in its e-Axle range, the eGen Power 85S, which incorporates a high-speed electric motor and two-speed gearbox. This e-Axle eliminates the driveshaft and axle input bevel torque. It fits easily between the wheels, providing more space for the battery.

With a continuous output of 304 hp (225 kW) and a peak power of 437 hp (325 kW), the eGen Power 85S delivers high acceleration capability and top speed, without compromising efficiency and range of the vehicle, making it one of the most powerful propulsion solutions in its category.

The eGen Power 85S e-Axle is particularly suitable for electric midibuses, offering them unique increased performance, reliability, acceleration and maneuverability. It is available on the fully electric Isuzu Novo VOLT midi bus, which will be on display at the FCC-ISUZU Bus stand.

This range has been developed to meet the diverse needs of Allison's customers, evaluating the capabilities of electric vehicles, in the heavy vehicle market.

At Autocar Expo, Allison Transmission will also provide an update on its nine-speed fully automatic transmission which has been designed to meet the demands of buses and coaches, such as 8m midibuses, which require frequent stop and go cycles. It offers state-of-the-art comfort, improved fuel economy, efficient driving and low maintenance costs.

“With the change from six to nine gears, there is an improvement of more than 50% in the gear ratio thanks to wider coverage and more spacing, which translates into higher smoothness and fuel consumption. reduced,” said Stéphane Gonnand, Area Sales Manager, Allison Transmission France.

The nine-speed fully automatic Allison transmission is offered for city, school and touring bus applications with torques up to 895 Nm and for vehicles weighing up to 15 t. It is available on Otokar's Navigo Giga, which will be presented by the manufacturer at Autocar Expo.

At Autocar Expo, visitors will be able to discover and test a number of models equipped with Allison fully automatic transmissions.
