Allison Transmission Provides More Than 10,000 Fully Automatic Transmissions for the Hyundai Mighty in 10 Years

Allison holds customer event to celebrate milestone at Cleantopia Anseong facility.

SEOUL, April 25, 2024–Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions and the largest global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions for commercial and defense vehicles, today announced that more than 10,000 Allison-equipped Hyundai Mighty vehicles have been sold over the last 4 years since its 2020 launch.

Mighty automatic trucks have been on the rise in recent years, meeting market demand for driving comfort, fuel economy, reliability, serviceability, and productivity. Allison has delivered more than 10,000 units of the Allison 1000 xFE™fully automatic transmissions to Hyundai Mighty since its launch in 2020. Mighty automatic trucks are used in a variety of applications, including pickup and delivery trucks, cargo trucks, refuse vehicles, firefighting trucks, and specialty vehicles.

The Allison 1000 xFE™offers improved launch performance, increased productivity, smoother shifting, easier operation, and enhanced driver comfort, as compared to competitive manual and automated manual transmissions(AMTs). The Allison 1000 xFE™fully automatic transmission utilizes a patented torque converter, which offers superior performance and eliminates clutch replacements. This results in increased economic value due to productivity and reduced downtime versus traditional manual and AMTs.

The 10,000th Mighty automatic with an Allison fully automatic transmission was delivered to Cleantopia's Anseong facility located inAnseong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The facility, which collects and delivers laundry to university hospitals, purchased a total of 10 Mighty automatic trucks in December 2023.

"Visiting various university hospitals to pick up and return laundry involves a lot of highway traffic jams and city driving," said Kim Dae-sung, Director of Unchang Logitec, which manages logistics for Cleantopia. "Automatic vehicles are very comfortable to drive, even when the vehicle is stuck in jams and faces repetitive stop-and-go traffic. We are very satisfied with the Mighty automatic truck because it is easy to drive, fuel-efficient, productive, and durable."

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the 10,000 customers who have purchased Mighty automatic trucks with fully automatic transmissions over the past four years," said Kyoungmee Lee, Regional Director of Allison Transmission Korea. "We will continue to provide service support to help our customers focus on their business and create value."
