Allison Transmission Hosts Fundraiser for Folds of Honor Indiana Scholarship Program

INDIANAPOLIS, September 19, 2024 Allison Transmission recently hosted The Folds Outing, a golf fundraiser benefitting Folds of Honor Indiana, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. military members and first responders.

The fundraising event, which took place at The Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis, raised $35,000 to provide Indiana families financial assistance with private school tuition or tutoring in grades K-12, tuition for college, technical or trade school as well as post-graduate work. Since its inception in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 52,000 scholarships totaling nearly $240 million in all 50 states.

“The Veterans Group of Allison Transmission has answered the call for the families of Hoosier military and first responders,” said Diane Markle, Indiana Representative, Folds of Honor. “After meeting with their group in 2023, they quickly decided to host a fundraising golf outing. In their inaugural year, Allison funded over four scholarships, and in 2024, they have funded nearly seven scholarships. We are proud to have Allison and their guests alongside us in our mission to honor the sacrifice and legacy of military and first responders in Indiana.”

Eighteen Allison employees volunteered for The Folds Outing. Several local companies sponsored the event, including Admiral Sponsor Crescent Pattern Company, Gold Sponsor Delta Research, Silver Sponsor Wolfe & Swickard and Bronze Sponsors Pepper Construction and Mussett Nicholas & Associates.

The Veterans Employee Resource Group of Allison Transmission consistently supports active military, Reservists, National Guardsmen and veterans through community programs and company-wide initiatives.
