GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador, January 2021 - The Valango company has been the company in charge of refuse collection in Guayaquil for 26 consecutive years, always trusting Allison fully automatic transmissions for its trucks. It began its activities
in 1994, as Vachagnon 1 and 2 Consortium (1994-2002 / 2002-2010), then as Consorcio Puerto Limpio (2010-2020) and now they recently won the contract to operate from 2020 to 2029.
Urvaseo, formed by the union of two leading companies in solid waste management, Valango Ecuador and Urbaser of Spain, confirmed the receipt of 18 Freightliner M2106 refuse trucks, equipped with Allison 3000 Series™ transmissions, to operate in Guayaquil
for an 8-year contract, in addition to the 75 Mack GR813 trucks, equipped with the Allison 4500 Rugged Duty Series (RDS) model.
Refuse collection requires toughness. Not only do the trucks have to be able to haul massive loads, they have to withstand heavy start-stop duty-cycles and day-after-day use without breaking down. Allison Automatics are designed for severe applications.
Instead of a starting clutch that is prone to wear, Allison transmissions use patented torque converter technology for unmatched reliability and more power to the wheels. By multiplying the engine power, drivers get increased performance, faster acceleration
and greater operational flexibility.
Over the years, Valango S.A. in Guayaquil has used different truck brands such as Navistar, Mack and Freightliner, but has always maintained the use of Allison Transmissions. This decision is because all Allison Automatics used during the 26 years have
reached outstanding levels of durability and reliability in an operation of 18 hours a day, 365 days a year.
