Allison Transmission presents its advanced range of products for public transport at Busworld 2020

Offering the widest range of fully automatic transmissions and propulsion solutions for buses, Allison will present its advanced technologies at Busworld Turkey 2020.

ISTANBUL, Turkey, February 2020 – Allison Transmission will display its fully automatic transmission technologies for midibuses and city buses at the Busworld Turkey Fair, being held at Istanbul Expo Center March 5-7, 2020 (Hall 10, Stand C18).

Offering a wide range of propulsion solutions for buses ranging from 7- and 8-meter midibuses used for tourism and personnel transportation, to 12-meter city buses and intercity coaches, Allison Transmission will showcase the T2100 xFE™ and T3270 xFE™ fully automatic transmissions at Busworld.

Thanks to optimized gear ratios coupled with the FuelSense® Max package, Allison xFE transmissions provide fuel economy improvements and lower emission levels by operating at lower engine speeds in higher ranges. The Neutral at Stop technology automatically shifts into neutral when the vehicle stops, increasing efficiency in duty cycles that experience a high number of starts and stops.

Offering comfortable transportation for passengers and ease of driving for the bus drivers, Allison fully automatic transmissions also contribute to the reduced total cost of ownership for transport professionals. Allison underlines that they aim to promote the use of fully automatic transmissions for a more comfortable urban transportation. "As Allison, we display our professionalism in bus and transportation to increase the comfort of passengers, facilitate drivers' duties and increase the efficiency and profitability of transport professionals. Thanks to our patented technologies, we maintain our leadership in the sector, and our products and technologies are appreciated in the field of transportation in Turkey," said Burak Kazar, Market Development Manager for Allison Transmission Turkey.

Allison's patented Continuous Power TechnologyTM provides the drivers with superior acceleration and maneuverability capabilities in narrow city streets and heavy traffic. With minimum wear and tear, Allison's all-hydraulic torque converter maximizes the uptime of buses. It also enables operational cost savings thanks to low maintenance and repair requirements, as compared to manual and automated manual transmissions, which require costly and time consuming clutch replacements.

Allison fully automatic transmissions are perfectly compatible with natural gas engines such as CNG and LNG. "Allison's Continuous Power Technology offers superior acceleration for these Page 2 of 3 Press Release spark ignited engines. The torque converter prevents loss of power and actually increases engine torque through torque multiplication. Manual and automated manual transmissions cannot match the performance of an Allison Automatic, and are unlikely to deliver efficient results for CNG and LNG engines. Therefore, we offer our technologies for natural gas vehicles in Turkey," said Kazar.
