Allison Transmission to Highlight Fuel-Saving Technologies and Fully Electric Propulsion Solutions at Solutrans

eGen Power 100S

LYON, France, October 2023 – Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional, electric hybrid and fully electric vehicle propulsion solutions, is pleased to announce its presence at the Solutrans trade show in Lyon November 21 to 25 (Hall 5 Stand B066). Allison will showcase a variety of propulsion solutions, including fully automatic transmissions with fuel saving technologies as well as its expanding eGen Power® family of fully electric axles.

Allison will display the eGen Power 100S electric axle at the trade show. Allison eGen Power received a Silver I-nnovation Award in the Equipment Manufacturers category during the Solutrans 2021 awards ceremony. Allison eGen Power was recognized for delivering superior electric vehicle propulsion efficiency. This superior efficiency enables increased range capability for the electric commercial vehicle with the same battery, or the potential to reduce the size of the battery required versus competitive solutions. The fully electric axle was also recognized for reducing greenhouse gases and noise emissions.

The eGen Power 100S is one of the most powerful and efficient fully integrated e-Axle systems in the world. It is designed to replace the traditional powertrain systems of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The e-Axle features an electric motor, capable of generating 225 kilowatts of continuous power, with peak power of 325 kilowatts. The eGen Power 100S also integrates a two-speed gearbox in the central housing, optimizing the e-Axle to enable the high starting gradeability to get heavy loads moving while also offering increased top speed and superior efficiency. The eGen Power 100S is a highly engineered and fully integrated solution that eliminates many of the inefficiencies of competitive electric axles through Allison’s differentiated design and packaging. These performance and efficiency advantages translate directly to wide-ranging duty-cycles, increasing range capability or reducing battery pack size for the electric truck, optimizing the economic value delivered to the end user.

Allison will also share its latest developments in fully automatic transmissions for internal combustion engine vehicles at the trade show. Allison has continued to optimize its offering to meet the needs of the most demanding users.

Allison will exhibit its fully automatic xFE transmission which allows for further savings in consumption through its FuelSense® 2.0 software and its innovative DynActive® Shifting gear change programming. The latter uses an algorithm to choose the optimal gear shift point, depending on the vehicle, specifications and environmental parameters, always providing the ideal balance between fuel economy and performance. Thus, with their productivity, reliability and ease of use, Allison transmissions contribute to achieving optimal total cost of ownership.

Allison fully automatic transmissions are compatible with alternative fuels, such as natural gas and biogas, allowing fleets to achieve reduced emissions with internal combustion engine vehicles.
