Ansan Driver Becomes Allison Brand Ambassador After Transitioning to a Fully Automatic Transmission

Min-ho Choi, working in the pick-up and delivery industry in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, has driven 300,000 kilometers since purchasing a Hyundai Mighty Automatic truck equipped with Allison 1000 Series™ transmission in June 2020.

Min-ho Choi has logged 300,000 kilometers on his Allison-equipped pickup & delivery truck since June 2020.

SEOUL, Korea, June 14, 2023 — Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions and the largest global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions for commercial and defense vehicles, today announced its newest Brand Ambassador, Min-ho Choi, a customer working in the pickup and delivery business in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do. Min-ho has driven 300,000 kilometers since purchasing a Hyundai Mighty truck equipped with an Allison 1000 Series™ fully automatic transmission in June 2020.

As an Allison Brand Ambassador, Min-ho is participating in Allison’s customer vehicle wrapping campaign, driving awareness of the many advantages of Allison fully automatic transmissions. Min-ho drove a Mighty truck equipped with a manual transmission for about 10 years before buying an Allison-equipped Mighty.

"When I leave Ansan on Monday, I deliver various goods all over the country and return home late on Friday evening," said Min-ho. "In a truck with a manual transmission, I have to constantly shift gears and use the clutch, so every day is very tiring and difficult."

"Allison Automatics are so comfortable because I can concentrate on driving and not on shifting and clutching, and I have been very satisfied with the Allison fully automatic transmission for the past 300,000 kilometers," said Min-ho. "Allison Automatics are very economical in the long term, as they only require periodic filter and fluid changes."

According to Min-ho, truck drivers are increasingly favoring vehicles equipped with Allison fully automatic transmissions because it makes their work easier as they can be more efficient and productive. He explains that if they are tired, they have to take a day or two off, which reduces their income, so truck drivers are looking for Allison-equipped vehicles.

"I've been in the pickup and delivery business for about 15 years, and I think drivers are definitely going automatic now. Mighty trucks equipped with Allison Automatics have very seamless shifts at the optimum time, and I think that's one of Alison's advantages," said Min-ho.

"We are very pleased with Min-ho Choi’s participation in Allison Transmission's vehicle-wrapping campaign," said Kyoungmee Lee, Regional Director of Allison Transmission Korea. "Drivers across Korea are turning to Allison for our industry-leading performance, reliability and durability."
