GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR diciembre 2020 - La empresa Valango ha sido la empresa encargada de la recolección de basura en Guayaquil durante 26 años consecutivos, confiando siempre para sus camiones las transmisiones Allison. Comenzó sus actividades en 1994, como Consorcio Vachagnon 1 y 2 (1994-2002 / 2002-2010), luego como Consorcio Puerto Limpio (2010-2020). Dicha empresa gano recientemente la concesión para operar desde finales del 2020 hasta 2029.
Urvaseo, conformada por la unión de dos empresas líderes en el manejo de desechos sólidos: Valango Ecuador y Urbaser de España, confirmó la recepción de 18 Camiones de Basura Freightliner M2106, equipados con transmisiones Allison (serie 3000), para operar en Guayaquil, por un contrato de 8 años, además de los 75 Camiones Mack GR813, también equipados con Allison, del modelo 4500RDS.
La recogida de residuos es un trabajo exigente. Los camiones que se encargan de realizarlo tienen que ser capaces de transportar grandes cargas; en un trabajo diario con arranques y paradas constantes, asegurando estar disponibles el mayor tiempo posible, evitando paradas no programadas por averias. Las transmisiones automáticas Allison están diseñadas para soportar esos trabajos severos, gracias a su convertidor de par que multiplica el par motor al arrancar y al acelerar, logrando así un mejor rendimiento, aceleraciones más rápidas y mayor maniobrabilidad, incluso a bajas velocidades.
Durante el paso de los años y los distintos contratos que ha tenido Valango S.A. en sus actividades de recolección de residuos en Guayaquil, la empresa ha probado distintas marcas de Camiones como Navistar, Mack o Freightliner, pero siempre manteniendo el uso de Allison Transmissions. Esta decisión se debe a que todas las automáticas Allison utilizadas durante estos 26 años han alcanzado niveles sobresalientes de durabilidad y confiabilidad en una operación de 18 horas al día los 365 días al año.
