INDIANAPOLIS, le 16 septembre 2021 – Allison Transmission, l'un des principaux concepteurs et fabricants de solutions de propulsion de véhicules conventionnels et électrifiés et le plus grand fabricant mondial de transmissions entièrement automatiques de poids moyen et lourd pour les véhicules commerciaux et de défense, a le plaisir d'annoncer avoir signé un accord d'achat d'actifs pour acquérir le portefeuille de transmission de l'activité hors route d'AVTEC Ltd. basée en Inde et l'activité d'usinage de composants hors route d'AVTEC Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ).
Basée à New Delhi et faisant partie du groupe CK Birla, AVTEC est l'un des plus grands fabricants indépendants indiens de groupes motopropulseurs et de produits d'ingénierie de précision pour l'automobile, les véhicules tout-terrain, la défense, l'agriculture et l'industrie ferroviaire, à la fois avec ses produits exclusifs et en sous-traitance.
« L'acquisition du portefeuille de transmission de l'activité hors route d'AVTEC et de la propriété intellectuelle associée accélérera la poursuite par Allison d'opportunités supplémentaires dans ces segments en Inde et sur les marchés mondiaux avec des produits spécialement conçus qui offrent performance et productivité à nos clients », a déclaré John Coll, Senior Vice-Président, Marketing mondial, Ventes et Services chez Allison Transmission.
Avec cette acquisition, Allison intégrera également les opérations d'usinage de composants hors route d'AVTEC, actuellement situées dans l'usine MEPZ (Chennai) au sein de l'usine de fabrication d'Allison à Chennai, afin de continuer à produire des carters pour les transmissions hors route d'Allison. « Cette acquisition soutient nos stratégies globales d'approvisionnement et d'exploitation », a déclaré Mike Dick, Senior Vice-Président Opérations et Achats mondiaux chez Allison Transmission.
Allison investira environ 27 millions de dollars en liquidités pour le portefeuille de transmissions hors route d'AVTEC et les actifs d'usinage de composants hors route de MEPZ. Allison ne s'attend pas à ce que l'acquisition ait un impact significatif sur les bénéfices de l'exercice en cours. La transaction est soumise à la réalisation de certaines conditions suspensives et devrait être finalisée d'ici la fin 2021.
