중국 버스 OEM 업체들과 협업 통해 오토매틱 시내 및 고속버스 해외 판매 확대
대한민국 서울, 5월 12일 – 앨리슨 트랜스미션은 중국 베이징에 본사를 둔 상용차 업체 포톤(Foton)과의 파트너십을 바탕으로 자동변속기가 장착된 400대의 CNG 버스를 멕시코 북동부 지역의 누에보 레온주(州)에 수출했다고 밝혔다. 앨리슨 트랜스미션은 지난해 자사의 자동변속기가 장착된 중국 버스의 수출에서 두 자릿수 성장을 시현했다.
하이디 슈테(Heidi Schutte) 앨리슨 트랜스미션의 EMEA, APAC 및 남미 지역 세일즈 담당 부사장은 "이번 수출은 앨리슨이 세계 시장에서 상용차 업체들과 긴밀히 협업하면서 오토매틱 버스의 판매 증진을 위해 힘쓴 결과"라며 "누에보 레온 주정부는 지속 가능하며 친환경적인 대중교통 시설을 확충해 승객들의 삶의 질 개선을 위해 노력하고, 이러한 과정에 포톤과 함께 참여하게 돼 기쁘게 생각한다"고 말했다.
중국 포톤의 CNG 버스는 앨리슨 토크매틱® 시리즈(Allison Torqmatic® Series) 자동변속기와 커민스 엔진을 장착하고 있다. 이 조합은 연비 개선, 배기가스 및 엔진 소음 저감, 클러치 제거, 차량 운행시간 극대화, 유지보수 비용 절감 등의 혜택을 제공한다.
가오 이(Gao Yi) 포톤 인터내셔널의 부사장 겸 신에너지 자동차 및 유럽 비즈니스 총괄은 "앨리슨과 손잡은 이후 성능 최적화와 총소유비용 절감 등의 이점을 강화해 대중교통에 대한 고객들의 요구를 충족할 수 있었다"면서 "누에보 레온 주민들에게 더 좋은 대중교통을 제공할 수 있게 돼 기쁘게 생각한다"고 말했다.
한편, 앨리슨 트랜스미션은 지난해 유통(Yutong), 안카이(Ankai), 샤먼골든드래곤(Xiamen Golden Dragon), 킹롱(King Long), BCI 및 중통(Zhongtong) 등 중국의 주요 버스 제조업체들과 협업하며 캐나다, 멕시코, 도미니카공화국, 칠레, 호주, 뉴질랜드, 베트남, 아르메니아, 카타르, 사우디아라비아, 카자흐스탄, 파키스탄 등에 자동변속기가 장착된 시내버스 및 고속버스 등을 제공했다.
