109,000 평방 피트 규모의 전용 시설은 앨리슨의 입증된 품질과 상업용 애플리케이션을 위한 신뢰성을 갖춘 eGen Power™ e-Axle 포트폴리오를 생산할 것이다.
대한민국, 서울, 2021년 12월 — 앨리슨 트랜스미션은 미국 미시간 주 오번 힐즈(Auburn Hills) 지역에 e-Axle 전기 차축 자동화 생산 시설을 준공했다고 밝혔다.
앨리슨 트랜스미션은 향후 생산 확대를 준비 중인 eGen Power™ 통합형 e-Axle 시리즈 제품을 생산할 계획이다.
앨리슨 트랜스미션의 존 콜(John Coll) 글로벌 마케팅, 영업 및 서비스 담당 부사장은 "앨리슨은 이번에 완공된 조립 라인에서 e-Axle 제조 역량을 갖춰 향후 eGen Power 시리즈 제품을 시장에 선보일 계획이다"며 "업계를 선도하는 인프라를 구현함으로써 전자동 변속기 및 전기 하이브리드 추진 솔루션 시장에서 고객 신뢰를 받았던 것처럼, 상용 전기차 시장에서도 변함없는 품질, 안정성, 내구성, 성능 등을 보장하겠다"라고 말했다.
앨리슨은 eGen Power 계열의 e-Axle 개발과 생산을 지원하기 위해 상당한 규모의 인프라 투자를 단행해왔다. 앨리슨은 생산 조립 라인 외에도 현재 개발 중인 e-Axle 제품에 대한 검증 테스트 프로토콜 설치도 완료했다. 앨리슨은 각 e-Axle 제품들에 대한 일련의 테스트를 통해 일정한 수준 이상의 성능을 발휘하는지 확인하고 있다. 각 테스트에 사용되는 시스템들은 eGen Power 및 e-Axle 제품이 출하되기 전에 앨리슨의 엄격한 생산 표준에 따라 제조됐는지 검증하는 역할을 한다. 앨리슨은 또한 신속하고 신뢰할 수 있는 엔지니어링 개발과 설계 검증을 위해 e-Axle 동력계 장비에 상당한 투자를 했다.
오번힐즈 e-Axle 시설은 eGen Power 포트폴리오의 모든 제품을 생산할 수 있다. 내구성이 강한 6x2 애플리케이션용 eGen Power 100D와 13톤 차축 총 중량 등급이 필요한 유럽 및 아태지역 애플리케이션용 eGen Power 130D가 포함된다. 이 시설은 또한 매우 튼튼한 6x4 트랙터와 내구성이 강한 차축이 일자로 연결되어 있는 삼륜차는 물론 중형 트럭과 학교 버스도 지원하는 eGen Power 100S도 제조한다.
