경기도 이천시 소재 대성급수, 앨리슨 전자동 변속기가 장착된 파비스 1대 구매
서울, 3월 15일 - 앨리슨 트랜스미션은 경기도 이천시에서 수돗물 운반 및 방역 차량을 운영하고 있는 대성급수가 최근 앨리슨 전자동 변속기가 장착된 현대자동차 파비스 1대를 구매했다고 밝혔다.
대성급수는 지난해 12월 앨리슨 전자동 변속기가 장착된 현대 파비스 280마력(HP)의 5톤 트럭 1대를 구매한 뒤 살수 및 방역 전용 탱크로리 차량으로 특장 작업했다고 설명했다. 앨리슨에 따르면 특장 시장에서 파비스 오토매틱 차량에 대한 수요와 고객 만족도가 크게 늘어나고 있다.
대성급수는 10년 이상 급수, 살수, 도로청소, 방역 등을 위한 탱크로리 차량을 전문으로 운영하고 있는 업체이다.
대성급수는 파비스 오토매틱 차량 구매 전까지 총 11대의 수동 및 반자동 차량을 운영했다. 하지만 경제성, 운전 편의성, 내구성 등을 고려해 앨리슨을 선택했다. 또한, PTO 사양을 고속 및 저속으로 선택할 수 있어 사용자 용도에 맞게 장착 가능한 점도 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 대성급수는 앨리슨 전자동 변속기에 대한 만족이 높아 향후 파비스 오토매틱 차량의 구매를 늘려갈 계획이다.
유재홍 대성급수 대표는 "수도권 일대에 수돗물을 운반하거나 조류독감 차단 방역 작업을 하려면 좁은 길을 통과하고 급경사를 오르내리는 경우가 많다"며 "수동이나 반자동 변속기 장착 차량은 급경사를 오를 때 시동이 꺼지는 경우가 자주 발생하는데, 이는 인명 사고와 직결되기 때문에 매우 위험하다"고 말했다.
유재홍 대표는 이어 "앨리슨 전자동 변속기가 장착된 파비스 오토매틱 차량은 승용차를 운전하는 것과 똑같다"면서 "이 차량은 급경사를 오를 때 악셀을 100%, 70%, 50%를 밟으면서 조금씩 올라가면 되기 때문에 차량이 멈추거나 시동이 꺼질 수가 없어 매우 안전하다"고 말했다.
유재홍 대표는 이어 "수동이나 반자동 변속기 장착 차량은 몇 년간 운행을 하면 디스크를 교체해야 하는 등 부품 유지비용이 많이 든다"며 "앨리슨 전자동 변속기는 초기 옵션 비용이 발생하지만 내구성이 뛰어나고 고장이 없어서 장기적 관점에서 보면 매우 경제적이라 생각한다"고 말했다.
대성급수 운행 담당 직원들은 과거 수동 변속기가 장착된 차량을 오랜 시간 운행할 경우 허리가 아프고 매우 피곤한 경우가 많았다. 하지만 전자동변속기가 장착된 차량의 경우 기어 변속과 클러치 조작이 필요하지 않아 승차감이 좋고 허리가 아픈 경우도 없다.
이경미 앨리슨 트랜스미션 코리아 지사장은 "대성급수나 소방서처럼 살수차를 운행해야 하는 고객은 안전성, 내구성, 경제성 등의 이점 때문에 전자동 변속기가 장착된 차량을 선호한다"며 "앨리슨 트랜스미션은 앞으로도 특장차 고객들이 더욱 성공적으로 비즈니스를 영위할 수 있도록 지원을 늘려가겠다"고 말했다.
