Technical + Engineering
As an engineer, a technician or a graphic designer, you’ll be part of a group of top-tier individuals who are as passionate about their work as they are the company they work for.
Allison Transmission has built a reputation on innovative transmission products with unsurpassed quality and reliability. To maintain these high standards, we depend on engineers, technicians and graphic designers who possess high mechanical or electrical aptitudes and have a strong desire to exceed customers’ expectations.
Here are some of the opportunities available in the fields of engineering and technical support:
Allison is looking for motivated individuals with a sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles. We offer careers in design, development and applications. For a select group who reach the peak of their fields, we offer opportunities for growth within our organization.
Our graphic designers work closely with engineers to generate concepts and detailed drawings using Unigraphics 3D software. They also work with our manufacturing and supplier teams to ensure that our parts are cost-efficient and of the highest quality.
If you have hands-on electrical and mechanical abilities and want to work with state-of-the-art dynamometers and vehicle and data acquisition systems, we may have the career for you. Allison provides a wide range of engineering development opportunities.
Information Technology (IT)
Our architects are domain specialists who have a deep understanding of our IT landscape. In addition to working with our suppliers on solution designs for projects, our architects define the evolution of hardware and software at Allison. They also play a key role in the development and evolution of business continuity through an IT point of view.
The IT Operations group operates and maintains our network, systems and applications worldwide. In the event of a failure, our strong process adopted from the ITIL model maximizes availability and enables a prompt response to resolve any incident. In addition to reactive services, we place a high degree of importance on proactive services, such as performance and capacity management, in an effort to eliminate issues before they impact business.
Project managers are instrumental to the success of our consistent technology transformation. Our project managers have a strong mix of business, management, organizational and leadership skills that ultimately drive us to bring projects in on time, on budget and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
IT security is an important, ongoing operation within the IS&S organization. We view IT security as a practice area that implements controls to protect security, privacy and data. Our security experts react to threats, but spend most of their time on proactive monitoring, auditing, analysis and the evolution of controls, policies and protective technologies.
